Our Story
Amanda Heins and her late husband, Matt, opened Roslyn Grocery in downtown Roslyn in 2013. At the time, Roslyn didn’t have a grocery store of its own, so even a quick trip for groceries meant leaving town. They wanted to bring everyday provisions back to Roslyn while creating the kind of neighborhood grocery store they wanted to see in their own community.
Roslyn Grocery was built around a simple set of priorities: offering what people actually need, choosing local and thoughtfully made products, reducing waste where possible, and building real relationships with customers, farmers, and makers.
Over the years, the store has grown and evolved alongside the community, with thoughtful updates to the space and an expanding selection of fresh foods, local products, organic options, and bulk goods.
The original store remains small and thoughtfully stocked with everyday essentials, fresh produce, specialty foods, and local finds. It has a little bit of everything—and a surprising amount of what you actually need.
More than a decade later, Roslyn Grocery remains a place built for everyday life in Roslyn: serving the people who call the town home while welcoming those passing through.
Room to Grow
In 2026, Roslyn Grocery opened a second location at Suncadia Social, creating more room to serve Roslyn, Suncadia, Cle Elum, and the people who visit the area.
The larger store builds on what people already love about the original Roslyn location, with more room for organic and specialty foods, local products, and a full kitchen and bakery for fresh, house-made favorites. Both stores offer fresh pastries and deli items daily, including Sour Local, Roslyn Grocery’s house-made sourdough made with Washington-grown grain.
Roslyn Grocery believes where your food comes from matters.
We work with Washington farms, producers, and makers whenever possible, seeking out food that is thoughtfully grown, raised, and made. That means local produce and meats, Washington dairy products, Pacific Northwest chocolates, regional beer and wine, and ingredients used in our own bakery and kitchen.
Both locations offer bulk options, making it easier to shop with less packaging and choose organic products at a reasonable price. We look for farmers and makers who care about how food is produced—from the quality of what they grow and raise to the health of the soil and the environment around it.
Our philosophy is pretty simple: when you know the people behind your food, it just tastes better.

For owner Amanda Heins, a good grocery store should feel personal. People should be greeted like family, helped when they need it, and leave happy to come back again and again.
That spirit carries through both Roslyn Grocery locations—from the relationships we build with local farmers and makers to the way we welcome customers through the door. At its heart, Roslyn Grocery is about knowing your neighbors, supporting the people who make and grow our food, and creating a place that feels like part of the community.
